Everlasting Login 1.1 Cookies for login

  • Requires jQuery and ColorBox (available in the gallery) ** Basically redundant in Orchard 1.5+ as users can choose whether to stay logged in on your site.

This module uses cookies to allow you to keep your users logged in forever, or however long you want them to stay logged in really. You can change the cookie time out in the Login section of the Site Settings. You can ignore the milliseconds section, but some people like to be precise with their cookies.

Some people running older versions of orchard may need to add: sessionState cookieless="false" into the system.web section of their main Web.config file. It seemed to make the module work. It is my first module, I clearly just have no idea what I am really doing here.

And don't forget to let your users know you are using cookies or some PC internet police will be mean to you about it. If you are too lazy to create something yourself, this module comes with an evil little widget that popups on peoples screens shouting whatever message you deem necessary to tell them your site uses cookies. Make sure you hide the title of the widget, else it looks retarded. The widget uses cookies so only shows the user once. Which is all slightly ironic. I like it.

If it breaks your site, it's not my fault. But I apologise all the same.
