Rising India: Video Gallery 1.0.0 Download This module deals with the videos meant for skill enhancement of rural people.
Poverty is widespread in India, with the nation estimated to have a third of the world's poor. World Bank estimates, 80% of India's population lives on less than $2 a day. According to a MDG1, 41% of India falls below the international poverty line of US$ 1.25 a day (PPP, in nominal terms 21.6 a day in urban areas and 14.3 in rural areas). The unemployment rate in India has increased from 6.8% in 2009 to 10.9% in 2010.
The prime reasons behind this increased unemployment lies the lack of education and primary skills. Even if the person is not educated, he can earn a living through the use of his skills for example, a shoe polish man might not be educated but he can earn his livelihood because of his art of shoe polishing. Rural development is an issue of great significance in India, particularly at the grass-root level. The disturbing factor is that rural people are not only illiterate but also uneducated. The uplifting of people living below poverty line is a major concern for the Government of India. The crime factor initiates from the concept of survival. When the labour class are unable to sustain themselves, they resort to crime. A very good example to this statement would be the act of terrorism which is a grave concern not only in India, but even at a global scale. Kidnapping, theft, homicide etc, are the other horrendous acts taken up by the anti-social elements. There is disparity as far as the economic distribution is concerned. The situation doesn’t imply only to India but exceeds to global level as well. With certain efforts towards provision of facilities and avenues for the poor and needy, this situation can be curtailed under any circumstances on a broad platorm. That will also secure the future of India and the World. By this generous act the down-trodden people in India and elsewhere can be redeemed.
Rising India is a technology enabled social innovation community movement where we tend to collaborate with unemployed rural people, NGOS, volunteers and social activists connected to dedicated web server. It is a platform where unskilled labours are given an opportunity to learn various skill sets to convert them from unemployed to employed through unique localized video based interactive learning centres established by NGO’S and social activists. We appeal to those kind hearted people who are willing to solve this problem, join RISING INDIA. Help us to diffuse the problem into every nook and corner of the country and allow us to dissolve more miseries. Let’s rise together. Let’s help realize the dreams of millions. Let’s make it real! We have developed a video gallery module using the orchard platform that will help end users to watch, upload and download videos by installing this module to their platforms. This module is a simple module of a video gallery. In future we will also allow users to upload skill enhancement videos with a moderator in between. These videos will be translated to different languages by the volunteers who will aid us. Besides this, the rural will also be provided with a job pool from which they could choose a job based on their preferences. This will help them get the right value for their job. These poor people if earn rightful money for their work then it will actually help the whole society. These are the people who have to resort to antisocial acts because even ‘just survival’ is not possible for them. When they get a job, they will not resort to crime and help build a better society to live. Presently this website will cover just India but over the course of time, it will cover the whole world. A big vision with bright future.
